Restorative Yoga poses help us learn to relax deeply and completely. A special kind of rest that’s different than sleep and highly beneficial.
When we practice restorative yoga we do gentle yoga poses that soften the body, the heart, and the breath. Restorative Yoga is a gentle practice and most of our yoga poses are done on the floor. We use blocks, blankets, and straps to support the yoga and make the body feel better. Restorative yoga strengthens muscles, and helps us gain flexibility and ease of movement in the body.
Everyone benefits from this practice both physically and emotionally.
Students of all fitness levels and abilities are welcome. Advanced athlete to the beginning student, injured, or are differently abled are all welcome in restorative yoga.
Some of the benefits or restorative yoga includes deep relaxation, which can lower blood pressure and calm the central nervous system. Restorative yoga reduces muscle tension and can aide in insomnia and aide in general fatigue. Restorative yoga through deep relaxations and soft holds helps to improve digestion, elimination, and fertility and can aide in increasing “good cholesterol levels” in the body.
I welcome and invite you to come and share this amazing experience, see you in class.
